DVM, Diplomate ACVS (Surgery)
Dr. Kennedy is a native New Englander who joins our hospital system as Chief of Surgery after 13 years practicing small animal surgery in the greater Baltimore, MD metropolitan area. He is a 1998 graduate of Tufts Veterinary School and completed a rotating surgical/medical internship at Angell Memorial Hospital in Boston. He went on to complete a surgery residency at the Cornell School of Veterinary Medicine and became a board certified surgeon in 2004.
Areas of special interest for Dr. Kennedy are stifle surgery, oncology/reconstructive surgery and trauma (fracture) surgery. He currently lectures nationwide for Orthomed N.A. on fracture repair and locking plate technology.
During his time away from the hospital, Dr. Kennedy lives with his Mastiff rescue named Tiki. He enjoys hiking, skiing, SCUBA , rock climbing and restoring his antique Jeep CJ.
