Amy Lomas

DVM, MS, Diplomate ACVIM (Small Animal Internal Medicine)

Dr. Lomas graduated from Kansas State University College of Veterinary Medicine in 2005.  Following graduation she completed a small animal internship at Advanced Veterinary Care Center in Lawndale, CA, and then practiced emergency medicine in southern California for four years.  In 2010 she returned to Kansas State for a small animal internal medicine residency and Master’s degree program.  Dr. Lomas finished her residency and passed the ACVIM certification exam for internal medicine in 2013.

Although Dr. Lomas enjoys the vast nature of internal medicine, her special interests include kidney disease, toxicology, and electrolyte disorders.  She published the article “Acute and chronic effects of tepoxalin on kidney function in dogs with chronic kidney disease and osteoarthritis” in the American Journal of Veterinary Research as part of her resident research project.

Dr. Lomas shares her apartment with an athletic Manx cat, Yamon Figurs Lomas.  She enjoys yoga, running, skiing, scuba, traveling and cooking.
